I left everything a mess

The dishes are still

in the sink. Dirty.

The rug still has dirt

beneath it.

The glass doesn’t shine

as bright as you want it to

and the air still smells

like freshly cooked food.

My bed is unmade

and I left the lamp on

I think the faucet is dripping

or maybe it’s the ceiling.

Sorry I left the place a wreck

and sorry I forgot to clean it up

But you should be sorry

you left me alone.
