Growing Up

Shouting with laughter, I race down the hall. Saturday anew

No preschool today, but my learning still grew

Next year, with Mom, Kindergarten go I

Story time, Recess, I’m three feet, but can fly.

Lower school years come and go like a blur

So many friends, and how fun they were . . .

Four foot now, a height I would prefer.

Middle school at last . . . so excited for the new lunch style.

Little did we know, there was a line, no smile.

“No recess!” we said, “That’s insane!”

But more learning time meant more fun for the brain.

Bar mitzvah time, it’s about a guy on Sinai.

Fun, but I hope my mom doesn’t cry.
