What Parkmont Poetry Festival Winners Need to Know

We are delighted to welcome you into the fold of 40 finalists (winners!) for our 2024 Festival. You were chosen from over 300 entries representing DC public, private, and charter schools. Our finalist judge, Teri Ellen Cross Davis, found your voice to be one of distinction, and we want to celebrate you.

  •  The Festival Reading and Reception will be on Saturday, April 27th at Zion Baptist Church, 4850 Blagden Avenue, NW, WDC, at 2 p.m. We hope you’ll attend to read your poem and you are welcome to invite family, friends, and teachers. The event will also be live-streamed! A link to the livestream will be sent prior to the event.
  • Winners need to arrive by 1:30 p.m. to register, have your picture taken and to speak with the event leaders in advance of the reading.
  • The Festival typically runs until about 3:30 but can run longer depending on poem lengths. We love it when our winners can stay to support their fellow readers until the end.
  • You will be given an Amazon gift card, two copies of the printed booklet of winners’ poems, and a Festival tee shirt — let us know your size when you fill out the 2024 Parkmont Poetry Festival Winner Survey linked below. Your prizes will be waiting for you at Registration.

Your poem will be published in our annual booklet and on the Winners page of our website along, with your photo and some biographical information.

What we need from you:

  1. Top priority: Please fill out the “2024 Parkmont Poetry Festival Winner Survey” form so that we can order tee-shirts, design your winners’ page, and plan the Festival Reading. A Photo Release is embedded in that form. The form  also includes an RSVP.
 Go to the Winners Survey.

Thank you for your poetry!
