Test Anxiety

An empty buzzing fills my ears

I can’t think, I can’t concentrate

I’m stuck in quicksand with no way out

Sinking,

       Deeper

              And

                     Deeper

                            Into stress

Worries are shackles bound to my ankles

weighing me down

My breathing becomes rapid

I blink trying to get rid of the tiny lights that spark in front of my eyes

I continue to blink as I stare down at my blank paper

But no ideas come

Now even the empty buzzing is gone

There is only silence
